What a Wonderful World

36 x 48”

Texture, acrylics and oils on canvas.

Commissioned by a family friend to honor her late mother.

The painting was to hang above the piano so I wanted to tie the music theme to the music loving woman in mention. I asked what her moms favorite song was and the answer was, “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong. I listened to the song and found learned the melody on my piano by ear. I then painted the notes of the main melody line, What a Wonderful World as seen on the treble cleft. I feel it is the perfect phrase for her mom to be remembered by.
